DSO Energijos skirstymo operatorius (ESO) is responsible for more than 40 000 km of medium voltage overhead power lines. Every year around 12 000 km of medium voltage overhead lines are inspected by ESO engineers. Last year, ESO tested an innovative service, inspecting 1000 km of medium voltage overhead lines using LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology together with high quality photos taken during the service. ESO intends to apply the successfully tested technology further, the plan is to inspect 8,000 km of medium voltage overhead lines during the next two years. Read more about the project here.
